Digial Betacam
The Sony DVW-A500P Digibeta (digi) is the most fully-featured VTR in the Digital Betacam line-up. It records and replays component digital video using small and large Digital Betacam (digibeta) cassettes. The Sony DVW-A510P digi beta can also replay Betacam and Betacam SP cassettes, allowing analogue material to be easily replayed into digital systems. The robust construction of the DVW-A500P, it's 4 channels of 20 bit digital audio and it's high quality video output have also made it a firm favourite for linear "on-air" playout. Also has optional analogue board fitted.

The DSR-20p offers functionality in the professional DVCAM format as well as the consumer, ubiquitous DV format. Both formats have their advantages. DVCAM offers superior picture quality and greater multi-generational dubbing performance. The DV format offers longer recording duration (maximum 270 minutes versus 180 minutes in DVCAM. The DSR-20 is equipped with a 4-pin i.Link (DV) interface based on the IEEE1394 standard. The i.Link provides a digital link from the DSR-20 to a variety of compatible equipment including third party nonlinear editors. Signals including video, audio, time code, and control can be transferred through this port with virtually no degradation of image or sound quality, which is essential in nonlinear editing.
